Arachnarok Spider and Savage Orcs - WIP

So at last I could post some pictures, and today I finally got my order with some more miniatures, gs, modelling tools, basing stuff and last but not the least Quickshade Dark Tone. As I have started with quickshade on my musican I wanted to continue to use it on the regiment of S orcs, will also to to make a coat on my spider even if it looks okey already.

Anyway, here's the pictures right before they get a coat Quickshade. First up is the very large base for the spider, don't know if I overdid it but at least I think it looks like a forest area.

And here is the spider himself, as I suggested it's still a WIP fir example the eyes isn't finished yet. And the howda aren't even fully built as I'm still a little confused by which version I should use.

And for last some of the rest of savage orcs. The quickshade will make all the difference on these, you wait and see ^^

That's all for now, will dipp these asap and make them ready for the next photo session.

A new little wargamer perhaps?

As I wrote on Twitter I got a my first child in the beginning of this week. A little daughter who needs a lot of attention from me and her mother right now. And as cute as she is we can't refuse to give her all the attention we can. When she gets older I'll try to lure into the hobby, there can never be to much women in this hobby :P.

But each day gets easier and easier and we can blend the new life with our daughter together with our old lives. And a lot is happening in the War game industry right now, got a new WD yesterday with a lot of info, history, rules and pictures of the next big thing in Warhammer fantasy, Storm of Magic is here!

And I must say I like what I'm seeing a lot of new monsters along with some long forgotten ones in the the new Citadel Finecast. New wizards, for example two new Tzeentch Sorcerers which looks really good. Also a nice large book with history and rules for the expansion.

There's also some new really nice looking scenery which gives opportunities to cast some really large spells.

These pictures is taken from the July issue of White Dwarf, and I got links for these from this topic on the Warseer forums. For more pictures and info check out the thread or buy White Dwarf there's a lot of it in there.

As you can understand I haven't had much time for painting these last couple of days, but the Arachnarok is coming along nicely and I will try to get WIP photos as soon as I can. The same can be said for my Savage Orcs which I think will look really nice in a big regiment of 30 savages.

My Wayland Games order is at last sent as well, there where some troubles of getting my Wh40k Ork for a Savage/ Orc warboss conversion and a painting set with a spray can which can't be shipped by plane. So It have to go without. At least I get the rest, 10 more S Orcs, the Orc Warboss/BSB kit, 20 Night Gobbos, Quick Shade and some converting and basing materials.

I'm really keen on making a new order of some of the new Storm of Magic stuff as well as getting that Boss Snikrot Orc. Next time I'll have some pictures.

More Warriors of Tzeentch

Just some more pictures on my Chaos Warriors, quite like how they turned out. Especially satisfied with the shield designs and the snow effect. Not much painting the last couple of days though, been watching all the games and stuff which where shown at E3, and I'm really looking forward to all the coming games and new consoles. Also playing Duke Nukem Forever atm, which where released the other day after twelve years! Not the best game I played but quite fun anyway.

A lot of stuff is going on in the war gaming world as well, with GW switching from metal to plastic/resin, more rumours are coming up regarding the summer campaign Storm of Magic. Which believe or not are going to focus on magic! and a lot of monsters check out this thread over at warseer for more info. Also mantic are going to start producing a sci-fi tabletop game! It's called Warpath and if you go over to Beast of War they have a lot of information as well as play testing of alpha rules for the game. Really looking forward to see what the miniatures will look like. Well well on to the pictures.

Warshrine of Tzeentch

I have been working a while on a Warshrine of Tzeentch alongside my other projects, it's based on a quite old Dragon Ogre miniature who is dragging a disc with a pillar on top. Of course there's a burning eye as well, same as on my Tzeentch Warriors. It's not finished yet but I hope to get it finished soon.

Open Letter to GW by MiniWargaming

So I thought I should put up this Video open letter from MiniWargaming one of several sites on the net where wargamers can buy their games workshop stuff. I totally agree with what is said in the video, and can only hope that GW even if they ignore this can come to their senses in the future.

I love the products GW is producing, they where the the reason I went into this beautiful and exciting hobby. But for every year the miniatures gets more and more expensive, even products that are old and White Dwarf feels more like an product catalogue.

I am the only one of my friends that still buy GW products, all the others have abandon the hobby and GW mostly because it costs so much money. I will continue to buy their products, but I don't know for how long if they continue on this road and I think that many costumers already have left the boat. I especially feel for you outside Europe that already have ridiculous prices and that these recent changes from GW is hurting the most.

Anyway watch this, and if you agree spread it out to other wargamers, friends etc.

Orcs and Goblins - Ungreen tide

Been quite busy with birthdays and stuff lately so the update took a bit longer. Anyway, I have been continued painting my ungreenskins and currently working on my savage orcs. I know not everyone like the new kit but I'm quite fond of it. I really liked the old ones as well but these looks more like the frenzied savages that they really are. And I for one really like that they show that much skin to make more room for warpaint!

So on to some pictures. First up are two fanatics or Whirling deaths as they are called on the GW website. They look a bit larger than the ordinary Night Gobbos but they do have a lot of character. Also some pictures on my Doom Diver with a custom built base.

And for last two pictures of my first and so far only one finished of the Savage Orcs, waiting for a new can of Quickshade for the others. Really liked how he turned out even if the dry outed quickshade gave him a little bit darker tone which I needed to repaint a little.
