We have all seen most of these already, at least the the Space Marines. But here's some first look pictures anyway of both the Space Marines and some other interesting bits. I got the WD just some minutes ago so I have just flipped though it so far, but it looks interesting, with a lot of Space Marine goodies.

WoC: More blue Nurgle Warriors!
I have now finished some more of the Nurgle Warriors unit, with more rust and more decay using some bits from the Forsaken kit, Chaos Chariot kit and Nurgle Icons from GW Direct and the Halberds of course from GW Direct as well.
Other than that I painted these as I have before (tutorial here) but with the added Nurgle bits, rust and verdigris. I will post up a tutorial on how to nurglify your Chaos Warriors soon I hope.
Nothing more to say really, glad they are done so I can get on and finish up some more stuff and I also really like how this unit is turning out. I hope it does look Nurgle enough despite the blue base colours, what do you think?

The latest five, used Kromlech Orange Rust Weather Powder on these and I think it worked really well. |
And the unit so far, just three more to make it a complete unit of eighteen. |
Need to do a magnetised movement tray for these asap, the standard bearer is falling all the time right now :P |

Miniature Monday Weekly Roundoup
Not much actual painting in this Mini Monday as I have actually not been painting that much the last week, however the Nurgle Warriors is finished and I will show you the result tomorrow. So what will I write about then? Well I have got some new stuff from a Polish company called Kromlech. They are now a sponsor of this blog, which means I get some stuff from them and I do reviews (of course using my honest opinion), painting tutorials etc. using their products.
So I got some nice stuff today and first impression is that it looks like really great quality stuff. I have never used any of their products before but the models and bits is looking really nice and it will be nice to paint these things up. Something I have already tried is one of their Weathering Powders, and I'm a total noob when painting with pigments like these but the result was really satisfying (Orange Rust on my Nurgle warriors) and I'm looking forward using these more.
That's all for now, expect more stuff about these products in the future as well as all the usual stuff. Now I need to finish making a magnetized movement tray for my Nurgle Warriors.

WoC: Nurgle Warriors Unitfiller 'Plaguebearers'
A small update on my Nurgle Warriors unit. I have five new Warriors soon finished but first I finished this unitfiller for the unit. So what is a good unit filler for Warriors of Nurgle, well Plaguebearers of course! Now I don't think people will doubt what patron god this unit worships even if it's blue.
Tell me what you think, especially about the colours of the Plaguebearers as it's not the usual colours for them.

WoC: Nurgle Gorebeast Chariot finished!
Finally it's finished, my Gorebeast Chariot. It did take some time to finish paint up because of all the rust, verdigris etc I had to add to the model because I want to look Nurgle, despite it being blue. Did I managed that? Tell me what you think.
Anyhow it was also quite fun to paint up, I'm still not huge fan of the actual Gorebeast but I could not come up with a good alternative so I went with him anyway and he doesn't look that bad now when it's all finished I think. It's not the best thing I have painted, but not all things you do are and I think it looks decent enough.
Now I will continue working on my Nurgle Warriors instead, c & c is very welcome as always.

Miniature Monday Weekly Roundup
Another week, another Monday and not so much progress last weekend. I attended to my cousins weeding the other day so not much done in the Hobby department during the last couple of days. But things are slowly going forward. I fully expect my Gorebeast Chariot to be finished tomorrow so no pics of it today and I am making progress on my Chaos Warriors of Nurgle as well.
So that is the plan right now, finish the Gorebeast Chariot and then seven Nurgle Warriors including mini unit filler. All which should be done during this week. I also have some other stuff I want to get done and next in line after the WoC stuff is to finish my Guardians of the Covenant Belial count as model. He is already painted but I needed to change the arms and tidy up the painting a little and add some bitz perhaps.
So that's all for now. Gorebeast Chariot tomorrow, until then WIP photos of Duriel my Belial count as.

Review: White Dwarf August 2013
Another month another review. Sorry for this being so late, I got my WD (I subscribe) two weeks later than usual so I have been reading it long after everyone else. But better late than ever, here's my still quite short review of this months WD.
New Releases
Lizardmen! Yeah Lizardmen got an updated armybook and quite a lot of new stuff as well. I haven't read the Armybook but there are different opinions on it all over the web. And it looks like most people think it isn't as powerful as before (needed) but quite balanced and there are much more variety in types of armies you can create, which is always a good thing.
The book is explained better in this issue and we see more and a little bit better pictures from the book as well, also the models shown are phtographed really nice with an jungle background and when fighting on the battlefield. The Eavy Metal team have done a great job painting these models as well and even though I'm not a Lizardmen player I still get a little urge to try and paint some of these up just because it looks like so much fun to paint them.
Last month I felt that I didn't get excited of Apocalypse after reading through that WD issue. That's not the case this month with this release, I don't know if it's just because I like the models more and that I'm more interested in Fantasy in general. Or if they actually presented it better in this issue that makes more interested even though it isn't one of my armies.
We also get so see the new Games Day exclusive model in the form of Marco Colombo, which I really want for my Empire but I will sadly not attend to any GD so that's a no no for me I'm afraid.
The Good
The Battlereport this month is quite nice actually, still no Narrative which is a shame, I like those Batreps more and I find them more interesting to read. But they seem to have listened to us who wanted bigger pictures of the whole battlefield because we get more of that here. This time we actually see a Eavy Metal painted army, the Lizardmen but that is just nice because I think all of it is newly painted so there aren't models we have seen before. The are making battle against the Andrew Kenricks also nicely painted Tomb Kings.
Continuing on the Lizardmen there's also an article about and called Making Monsters: Reptilian Evolution. Here's we get some insights from the design team on how they thought when making the new kits. It's much about how some of them (Carnosaur and the Stegadon) has evolved from the old kits, strangely they don't show us any comparison shot with the old models which I have found to be interesting to see. How the Lizardmen looked back when they first arrived as an army in (was it 5th ed?) would be awesome to see but no such thing in here. I have seen a trend in recent WD:s that they don't want to show us old models we can't buy anymore, which is a shame because many old models looks really nice and it's fun to have some retro stuff every now and then.
Anyway, we actually get to see some older models in this issue, and it's even Bretonnian models which aren't that profound in recent WD issues. This month's Armchair General is about Duncan Rhodes Bretonnian army, which is nicely painted and also has a lot of classic models like the Bertrand the Brigand and crew (Robin Hood basicly) and the old Men at Arms models. Really nice to see.
Other highlights is Army of the Month with an really massive Iron Warriors army by Jamie Farquhar, and some personal favourites from the Parade ground and Kit Bash with units from Charcarodons, Sons of Horus and Night Lords, all looking really nice.
The Bad
As I said in the last review there's isn't really anything that is bad in here, but some things could have been better in my opinion. The Battleground this month showcased a really massive and cool looking Hive City and how it was made. Sure it's nice and everything but they could have given us more tips on how to do something similar ourselves and with more like tutorials baked in there.
Also I still think the Paint Splatter could be better with maybe one more extensive Tutorial on a certain model like in old days coupled with these more basic techniques. Don't get me wrong though, the ones on Lizardmen and even from the Hive City in this issue is quite nice, but still quite basic something more would be nice.
Conclusion
So some things I liked and some things that could be better it seems and overall it's a middle of the road issue for me. There are still things I think is missing in the 'new' WD format and that is an incentive to go back and look in the magazine in the future. Like they are know I don't really feel I need that. I can't tell what it is but there are the usual things I think that is still missing. Narrative, fluff, new rules, more tutorials about the hobby, something that makes want to go back and check out an older issue. So because of that this issue get a quite low rating despite me liking most of it.

Painting Challenge 2013: July
Another Painting Challenge month and also a month where I had most of my Summer Vacation so we have to see if that will show in the result this month.
WoC
Tzeentch BSB on a Demonic Mount (minimum equipment Halberd, Shield, Barding, MoT) 204 Pts
The Empire
10 Archers 70 Pts
10 Flagellants 120 Pts
Bauhaus
1 Jungle Kommando Sergeant 43 Pts (Warzone 2 ed)
Total this month: 437 Pts
So a great month both model wise and points wise, that I finished the BSB this month makes a lot but normally he is even worth more points than that (around 250 Pts). I also finished some models I wanted to finish for a long time like the BSB and the Archers. So I'm really happt with this months turnout and hope I get as many points in August, I doubt it though.

Miniature Mon(Tues)day Weekly Roundup
Yeah I did a Mini Tuesday this time again as I had some stuff to do yesterday. So on to what I have been doing.
As always I have done a little bit of this and a little bit of that but my main focus have been on painting up some more Nurgle Chaos Warriors. Nothing special, did some head swaps with one head from the Chariot kit and one from the Forsaken kit (this kit is great to kit bash with). I also have some Nurgle icons that I will put on some of the shields in this unit. When these are done together with the Plaguebearer unit filler the unit is up to fifteen men strong so just need three more to a full unit of eighteen.
I'm still painting up the Gorebeast Chariot and the reason for delaying this one is because I want to do a little tutorial with one of the rider models to show you how to Nurglify models without just painting them green. But it will soon be finished I promise you.
Other than that I haven't been doing much hobby stuff I'm afraid, there are some models I want to finish up painting but just can't manage myself around doing it. Like my Empire Celestial Hurricanum for example, that is a really intimidating model to start up and paint again, and I have a lot of painting to do on that one.
Another model that I don't have so much to do on is my GotC Belial count as model which I have repainted a little and upgraded with new arms, most is already finished so just the last bits left to do on him.
So I hope I get around and finish painting some models this week, the Chariot I really want to finish up, but a lot of RL stuff this week as well so I have to see how it goes on that one.

News: New Space Marine pics!
Yes there are some more pics now, still not really super excited for anything of it. Like the new TAC kit, it looks good I suppose but not anything spectacular about it. Via DakkaDakka

News: Space Marine pictures!
The good, the bad and the ugly? Well I don't know about the first two but I do know which is the ugly one, do you? ;) Well here's the pics Iv'e gathered from DakkaDakka.
