Unboxing Warzone: Bauhaus Venusian Rangers (new versions)

The Venusian Rangers are well-versed in fighting the forces of the Dark Legion, but they see just as much action against their megacorporate rivals. They are often used to mount surgical strikes against the defenders of especially desirable targets that Bauhaus wishes to obtain, such as mines and processing plants deep in the Venusian jungles. Spearheading these hostile takeovers has led to the emergence of a degree of rivalry between the Venusian Rangers and the Special Forces of the other megacorporations, the senior commanders engaging in a game of cat and mouse as they hunt one another through the Green Hells.

Because Bauhaus is well known for its adherence to tradition, its troops rarely overstep the bounds of honour. Captives are always well treated and the wounded of both sides are well looked after, leading to a healthy professional respect between the Venusian Rangers and, in particular, the Golden Lions of the Imperial Corporation, who have often been used in a similar role. However, the Venusian Rangers set aside all codes of honour when fighting the Dark Legion, for such deeds would never be reciprocated. In the battle for the very soul of Humanity, there can be no such concessions.

Prodos Games are working their asses off I think, releasing more and more models. And it's not just that the miniature range in Warzone: Resurrection is growing rapidly. The quality on the new models is definitely top tier in the industry right now, and the latest batch of models I bought has just blown me away.

So first up is the Venusian Rangers for the Bauhaus Corporation, one of my favorite units in the Mutant Chronicles Universe.

You get your five toy soldiers in one of these boxes, no artwork unfortunately but I'm sure we'll see that in the future .

All the stuff you get in the box, no base for the Boby Trap token (there should be one according to the Prodos Shop) but that's no biggie as I have plenty of spares. Also note the little paper where you can see who to blame if your box isn't satisfactory enough for you.

You get two sprues, bodies and arms. There's letters on each to show what arms goes where in an easy way.

Not a lot of flash at all and just a moldline going in the capes (easier seen on the pic above) which where very easy to fix.

You get a nifty looking Booby Trap token as well, with the Bauhaus logo and everything! Me like.

The cards is still the old ones (there talk about Prodos doing new ones in a new format) As always (almost) you get one stat card, two strategy cards, two tactical cards and one gear card.
Love these models, the helmets are not all classic looking but a similar style and really cool. The poses and the details are just amazing. And I have to say that these now are one of my absolute favorite miniatures for a Sci-Fi miniatures game if not the top spot. That's how cool I think they look.

The one and only negative I can find is that you can't do much when it comes to posing them different and all that. Hopefully we will get more in the future, I will sure buy even if I already have ten of the old KS Ven Rangers and these five.

Long nice robes makes them look even more menacing for their hated foe the Dark Legion.

Here's just two pics on how the different configurations look, you can go with all Panzerknacker Assault Rifles or you can change for one ore two of their Rocket Launchers as you can see below. This also drastically changes the appearance of the models.

Closing words then, well I love this kit of models. Great details, cool poses and awesome design. I didn't dislike the old KS versions, and with the upgrade kit I really liked them. But when compared to these new they are really crude looking actually. If your'e a Bauhaus player already and think you have plenty of Venusian Rangers already, think again, the new ones are much superior in every way. If your not a Bauhaus player yet, well these models have a great potential to change all that I promise you. Thank you Prodos Games!

Miniature Monday: Bauhaus Max Steiner

Whilst serving in the ‘green hells’ of Venus, Steiner was transformed. He learned the full horror represented by the Dark Symmetry, confronting the very worst necrotechnological monstrosities the Dark Legion could field. He saw beloved brothers-in-arms cut down in the prime of life, only to be resurrected by the fell processes of the symmetry and sent against their erstwhile kin as horrific, rotting Undead Legionnaires. He faced the cream of the other corporations too, but always his true hatred was reserved for the Dark Legion.

With so many battles against the servants of the Nepharites to his name, it was perhaps inevitable that Major Steiner would receive one of the greatest honours any human soldier can aspire to – he was invited by the Cartel to serve in the elite of the elite, the Doomtroopers. There, Steiner found that the enemies he had faced thus far were but the tip of a necrotic iceberg, a mere glimpse of the stark horror that awaited should the Nepharites gain a foothold on the worlds of the solar system. As a Doomtrooper, he infiltrated the halls of the Dark Citadels themselves, and saw sights that would blast the very soul from most men.

Finally a finished model to show you all, and it's no less than the famous Max Steiner from the Bauhaus Corporation. This is probably one of my absolute favorite characters in thc Mutant Chronicles universe. And I also think that the model Prodos has made to represent him is one of the best from the Kickstarter era models. So really fun to paint up even if I did f*#%k up the white paint job I did on the armor with my airbrush (was sloppy with the rest of the paints and white do not forgive those mistakes easily).

I think he turned out nice in the end anyway, hope you like this and come back the following days as I will do more Warzone unboxings with all the new stuff I got today :D.

Unboxing Warzone: Cybertronic Eradicator Deathdroid

The Mega Walker of Cybertronic is often fielded in Squads of 3, each is linked to the other via banned technology and controlled by a web of human dentretic cells and cybernetics.

Text from Prodos Shop

Here's my second unboxing of a so called Heavy Vehicle in Warzone: Resurrection, the Eradicator for Cybertronic. So here we go.

I got this via my Kickstarter so I did not recieve any box but instead all of the stuff is in these bags.

It's a big model but you don't get that many parts, and is therefore really easy to assemble.

It still looks similar to the original design but more shark like. And I really like the new look.

As always you get six cards, two Strategy cards, two Tactical cards and one Gear card. And then we have the stat card of course.
You also get this mission cards for using Heavies in your games. The same as you got with all the Heavies.

Assembled and ready for paint. Might need some GS as well on the shoulder pads to fix those gaps.

A lot of nice details and it looks really hi tech for being Warzone, but that is Cybertronic as they should look.

The Eradicator is tall and large, here's a comparison to some other WZ:R models.

So, haven't painted it up yet as I think I will paint up the stuff I will play with more often first. I do think it will be really nice to paint up though and is looking forward to it. It is a big and impressive center piece model I think every Cybertronic player should have even if you don't think you will play that many Heavy games. It's just to cool not to have.

Unboxing Warzone: Brotherhood Sacred Warriors

Dedicated solely to fighting the forces of the Dark Soul, Sacred Warriors hold no fear of death. They live in cloistered isolation and rarely mix with outsiders. Those hours not spent training to the very highest possible levels of martial skill are devoted to studying the Word, prayer, meditation and adoration of the Cardinal. The result is a cadre of warrior-monks utterly dedicated to their mission of confronting the Darkness wherever it may be found.

Classic cover art from Studio Parente

Another unboxing, and this time it's the updated versions of the Sacred Warriors. I don't have any of the Kickstarter version so can't compare them unfortunately. But from what Iv'e heard these new ones are much better than the old ones, easier to put together, sturdier swords etc. So on to the unboxing.

All the stuff you get in the box, note that the building instructions are for the old models

A closer look on the miniatures, as you can see four parts per model.

Really nice details and design

One stat card, two strategy cards, two tactical cards and my favorite of the bunch the gear card Shield of Light.

I haven't glued on the shields on some of them to make it easier to paint them. I had to straighten the swords a little in hot water but it was really easy to do. All in all really nice looking miniatures with just a few moldlines.

All in all a great kit, really nice looking miniatures and easy to assemble. As torsos and legs are together you are a little limited when it comes to poses. But the minis themselves are so dynamic I don't think this is a big problem at all.

News: Prodos shows more new kits for Warzone: Resurrection

Oh my god it will be a expensive time for me... again! I have already showed you the new Bauhaus starter but that is not all, Prodos also releases new Venusian Rangers for Bauhaus and new Mirrormen for Cybertronic. So as soon as these, and the Bauhaus starter is released I will make an order.

And then we have all that WH Fantasy Chaos stuff I also want, oh dear. But here's the pics.

Already have ten of the old KS, but I will get at least five more of the Venusian Rangers. Also nice with a token for their ability to put out mines on the battlefield. Hope to see more Tokens in the future.

Have ten of the KS versions for these as well but these new ones are a HUGE improvement so I have to get more of them.

A new pic that clearly shows the new Bauhaus starter, me want!

Miniature Monday: Space Marine Land Raider

First 40k model showed on this blog for ages it feels. And well this one isn't completely new, I painted this one in 2010 (!?). I never went up on the blog it seems though as I never got a really good picture of it.

Well I did some repainting and foremost did a lot of weathering on it, adding a lot of weathering powders (I used Kromlech Dark Dirt and Soot Black) and some Citadel Typhus Corrosion.

And below is the result, it looks more authentic now and a LOT dirtier. Might do some more changes to it, but this will have to do for now. Will actually do some more Wh40 stuff, but mostly repaints like this one for my Guardians of the Covenant as I got a little morale boost for this army when the author of 'The Dark Fortress' (a Dark Angel fansite) asked if he could put my pictures up on his site, which I gladly accepted of course. Check that the page with my GotC stuff here.

News: A new Bauhaus starter!

Prodos Games has hinted it a long time now but now we can finally see how it looks, the new Bauhaus starter.

You still get ten Hussars which is tweaked and upgraded versions of the KS models (like they did for for the Cybertronic and Brotherhood starters) but still maintain the style with the old ones so they don't look odd together. It also comes with the new Vulcan, and a new model from the newest 'Heroes of the Solar system' a Marshal (or can be used as a Kapitan). I completely love how this model looks and is a homage to the old classic Bonner Bauhaus art.

Will buy this one as soon as it is released among with some more goodies :)
