Unboxing Warzone: Brotherhood Sacred Warriors

Dedicated solely to fighting the forces of the Dark Soul, Sacred Warriors hold no fear of death. They live in cloistered isolation and rarely mix with outsiders. Those hours not spent training to the very highest possible levels of martial skill are devoted to studying the Word, prayer, meditation and adoration of the Cardinal. The result is a cadre of warrior-monks utterly dedicated to their mission of confronting the Darkness wherever it may be found.

Flavour text from the Prodos Shop

Classic cover art from Studio Parente

Another unboxing, and this time it's the updated versions of the Sacred Warriors. I don't have any of the Kickstarter version so can't compare them unfortunately. But from what Iv'e heard these new ones are much better than the old ones, easier to put together, sturdier swords etc. So on to the unboxing.

All the stuff you get in the box, note that the building instructions are for the old models

A closer look on the miniatures, as you can see four parts per model.

Really nice details and design

One stat card, two strategy cards, two tactical cards and my favorite of the bunch the gear card Shield of Light.

I haven't glued on the shields on some of them to make it easier to paint them. I had to straighten the swords a little in hot water but it was really easy to do. All in all really nice looking miniatures with just a few moldlines.

All in all a great kit, really nice looking miniatures and easy to assemble. As torsos and legs are together you are a little limited when it comes to poses. But the minis themselves are so dynamic I don't think this is a big problem at all.

Unboxing Warzone: The new Brotherhood Starter Box

I actually already had the old Brotherhood Starter from the KS but I really liked the look of this new one so I had to get it as well. The new box compliments the old one quite well, you got Cardinal Dominic, 1 Judicator and 10 Troopers in the old box (at aprox 520 Pts, only the Cardinal is 275 Pts!). In the new box on the other hand you get 2 Inquisitors, 10 Troopers and 1 Judicator at 335 Pts. So a lot less points but much more utility from the new box in my opinion.

Because if you buy this box, you do get a great start. You need to buy an Warlord as well though, but you can choose anyone you want instead of having to get Dominic and buy a second Warlord if you want someone else. Instead you get Inquisitors who is really nice in the game and they can either be in their own squad or upgraded squad leaders for your troopers. So get this box, a Warlord of your choice and maybe a support unit and you get an nice 750 Pts force or even more with 'Art' upgrades.

Anyway on to the unboxing then.

The back of the box actually shows you the contents of the old style troopers and Judicator and I actually got a little bit worried I had got the wrong when I ordered :P

All the stuff you get, apart from the models and cards you also get a set of two D20.

The new Inquisitors looks awesome and where really easy to assemble.

Not only is there a new design for the Judicator it now also have two different head variants and options for either two Crusader Cannons or one Cannon and a Retaliator Broadsword.

You get two of these sprues and even if they look the same you can get to look different by combining different set of hands to the models. Also you get one Scoped Weapon on each Weapon sprue, you didn't get any on the old ones.

Better details overall as you will see on the comparison shot with an old Trooper.

8 Cathedrals and 4 Stat cards

7 Gear Cards

10 Strategy Cards

And 45 Tactical Cards, so a total of 74 cards? Should be 75 but I may have missed something, oh well..

Here's assembles versions of both the old and new Judicator. I don't dislike the old one, but the sword is a pain to keep straight (even if I have used hot water several times) and it has much poorer details compared to the new one. So a big step up there.

The newer troopers also got much better details and looks more slim. I like the look of both of the so I don't regret getting the KS starter. I don't think I will mix the new with the old but for different looking troopers in different squads it's great. You can say they have different marks of armor or something, happens all the time in 40k.

I  have one little issue with the new models though, the arms looks very slim. Not a huge deal as you won't see them much anyway but I think it would have looked even better if they where a tad more beefier.

The whole crew assembled (not all is glued together though)
So all in all I really like the new kit, can't compare it directly with the old kit because I don't have the cards etc. in that one but if you look at utility from the models in the box, the details, design and overall quality of the models the new box is far better than it's predecessor. And I do recommend it to all Brotherhood players old and new if you haven't this box. Go out and get it now! It's a great compliment to an existing force and also as a start (as a Starter box should be) for any who would like to start an new Brotherhood army. But remember to get an Warlord as well.

Warzone: Production in progress

Every new update makes me more and more excited to soon get my hands on these wonderful miniatures and everything else I have pledged for. So it is always nice when we actual real and cast miniatures that is exactly what we get to see in this update.

We see the really cool looking Crucifier and lot's of other bit's I'm unsure of. The torso on the right looks like a Capitol dude but I can't really find a perfect fit so I don't know. The ones in the background with the guns up stretched in the air may be Capitol Henry Thomas. Other than that it is looking really promising and it looks like the models is having the same amount of detail as the 3D renders, as you also can see on the pic below with the model Lord Inquisitor Hamilkar (I forgot to post this up earlier)

WZR: Lord Inquisitor Hamilkar

So we get the first render update after the Kickstarter ended and it's Lord Inquisitor Hamilkar, don't really how this guy is but he looks badass exactly like the rest of the Inquisitors. So it looks like I need to add some more money on my pledge so I can get this guy as well.

Lot's of expression in his face, really like it.

WARZONE: Hatamoto unlocked! 3 Hours to go & more goodies from Prodos

So we smashed the £150k stretch goal earlier and therefore unlocked the Hatamotos for Mishima. We have also got a lot of updates from Prodos lately see what down below.

Unlocked, looking forward seeing how they will look when Prodos makes them.

OMG, the Martian Banshees looks amazing! Gz to you Capitol players out there

The Crucifier! Also an awesome looking model, will be getting this one

A smaller stretch bonus if we reach 160k which I doubt we will. But for all pledgers of Undead Legionnaire or above you will get a 4 piece objective marker set of your faction choice. So a great thing if we get there, so continue to make your pledges people!

WARZONE: Mishima unlocked! Only 11 hours left of Kickstarter!

Yey we reached the £140k stretch goal and it went fast during the night so I think the Americans did a lot of pledging so now we unlocked the Mishima starter and also just now got revealed what we will get if we get if we reach £145k, Lord General Nozaki.

Also we got some updates earlier today, we got some renders of the Valkyries as well as the KS exclusive poster for Dark Legion this time and it's the Black Widow, really cool models and awesome picture of the widow.

So only 11 hours left of the Kickstarter, so go on pledging if there's anything you want for really good KS prices.

WARZONE: Capitol Orca and Add-On Packs

I'm really starting to get annoyed on some of the pledgers who first make pledges then drop out for a while and go in again, so frustrating seeing the pledge total going up and then down. Well anyway, we still get some really cool updates and this time it's the Orca for Capitol, which is the £ 95k stretched goal. And it's looking really cool as well.

We also got an update in the middle of the night showing us the promised (the £ 75k stretch goal) Add-On packs for each of the four starter factions. Here's what Prodos tell us on the Add-On packs:

These special Extra add-on packs are only available on Kickstarter. Some parts will be available on the plastic sprues (These will be resin), such as legion shoulder pads, other things may be offered seperately as upgrade packs in the future (walker arm variants). Whereas other parts of the set may not be released again (e.g. head variants)
