WIP Wednesday

I have soo many unfinished projects right now, but here's the stuff I hopefully will get finished really soon.

Continuing the Savage Orcs, but takes time now when I decided I have to work some more on their skin.

Also for for Tzeentch army, a Spawn which is nearly done and a Chaos Knight. Not great pictures, but that's what I'm doing right now. Will try to post more here, even if it's just short posts like this one.

Miniature Monday: Daemon Prince of Tzeentch WIP

The only thing I post nowadays Miniature Monday! Well I will be better posting more stuff up here, currently moving and making a new hobby room so between that, having young kids and some painting there isn't much time left...

But for now, here's my Mini Monday for today!

My old Tzeentch Daemon Prince, now on a 60 mm round base. Still WIP as I can't help myself not to do some repainting when I at it changing bases. I have redone the skin, the cloth and and the sword so far. Still highlights left to do on the skin, and I also want to redo the black on the wings. Also some more highlights here and there and more work on the base and it's done. Will of course post up new better pictures when it's finished, but for now this will have to do. Happy wargaming and painting guys!

Age of Sigmar: Lions of Sigmar Plog Part 1

So I figured I could do a painting log on the different projects I do currently. And the one thing that is keeping my hobby time occupied right now is my Stormcast Eternals from the AoS starter box.

As you can see in the title, I'm painting them up as Lions of Sigmar, but that is just luck really because I thought out this color scheme when I first saw the first leaked images of the Stormcast Eternals. I always liked painting purple and thought it would look nice with a bright bronze armor, also it's an little homage to my old Ostermark Empire army.

Anyway, if you have followed my blog in past you might already know Iv'e finished some miniatures, first five Liberators among with their pal from White Dwarf for a total of six Liberators. I then wanted to try out some airbrushing on the Prosecutor wings so finished one of them up as well. Right now I'm working on the Lord-Celestant, which is taking a lot of time for me to paint up, but I want him too look as good as possible as it's really an awesome looking centerpiece for the army.

If you want to know how I painted these, Iv'e made an tutorial on how I painted the Liberators, and those colors are used on all the army so far. Tutorial can be found here.

Here's how the small army looks at the moment, quite a lot more to do but it's nice to see they are shaping up. Also reinforcements are on the way, one box each of Judicators, Paladins, Liberators, Lord-Celestant on foot and one Lord-Castellant with his Gryphound. I also ordered the new books, and some of the nice terrain so looking forward to see all that when it arrives.

As you can see above I have come pretty far with the painting on my Lord-Celestant. Such an awesome model so want to take my time painting him up. Really fun so far painting him.

My six finished Liberators, the rest I'll save for last of the Stormcast Starter contents as I want to paint up the rest of the bunch first.

And here's my first finished Prosecutor. Happy with how it turned out and I will finish the rest of the unit as soon as the Lord-Celestant is done.

That's all for now, I will try to update this as often as I can. As always comments are much appreciated.

Miniature Monday: Stormcast Eternals Liberators (Lions of Sigmar)

Been working hard on my Stormcast Eternals lately, and soon very soon my first unit of Liberators is finished. I made some tweaks from the model I got in White Dwarf. The reason it takes some time extra is because I'm also doing an Painting Tutorial on how I painted these,

Here's an late WIP picture on the unit, just some final highlights and the basing to do. And will be working on the tutorial asap. Hope you like them.

Miniature Monday: Heroes from Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Just a short Miniature Monday today. This is some late WIP:s of three of the first heroes I started to paint up, and happens to be the three heroes we have in the first of our campaigns in Imperial Assault.

I really like to paint these miniatures up as they are quite different from what I normally paint, and although you can't compare the details with pure Wargaming miniatures they are really nice.

These are as I said late WIP:s there are the final touches left, like the last highlights, eyes, and extra details like source lighting from the lightsabre.

As a sidenote we lost the mission to obtain Diala Passil's (the Jedi apprenctice/wannabe) lightsabre past weekend so no lightsabre for her (this is my character in this campaign). So maybe I should paint it up in metal instead? :.( dammit!

WIP Wednesday: Manticore and terrain

I have plenty of different painting projects laying around which I have just started on, but for today I wanted to show you these.

First up is a Manticore for Warriors of Chaos. I wanted to try out my airbrush a bit more so I just started on this one and to see what I could do. I think I'm done with the airbrush on this model now but I'm very pleased with how the colors looks, it might not look all to natural with the HLs and stuff but these are magical bests of Chaos so I just wanted some cool colors and smooth transitions.

I stayed with the blue theme of my Chaos army but also blended in some turquoise to make it stand out.

When I was done I noticed his right ear was missing :S that's why it does not have any colors at all at the moment.
And I also wanted to show you some new terrain as well. I'm currently working hard on making a nice game board for my Warzone miniatures, (and that can work for other sci fi games as well) and here's some terrain using 40k and Deadzone scenery and barbed wire.

Currently painting them up as well and I like how they are turning out. I also have some finished terrain from the Deadzone Battlezones which I will show the coming days.

Miniature Monday: Empire Celestial Hurricanum WIP

It's short Mini Monday today, have several projects in the pipeline at the moment and one of them is to finally finish painting my Celestial Hurricanum. It's have taken some work I can tell you, I have built,  converted and painted a model much similar (my War Altar of Morr) and there's just so much stuff going on and so much stuff that need paint it takes forever and it's driving me crazy!

Well you have to do some parts at a time to make it easier, but it's just so many parts! I have now painted mostly of the main chassis but still some interior and other stuff to do. The horses are mostly done but need some more paint as well. My goal is to finish the horses, the base and the main chassi and focus on the swirling planets and what not and the crew after this.

I'm sure it will look great when it's finished, at least that is what I'm going for... but damn it takes a lot of time to paint up. Will probably never do an Luminark because I don't want to paint one more of these wagons (might change my mind if they are totally OP next ed :P ).

WIP Wednesday: Bauhaus Vorreiters and more

Got a model that is almost done and some others where I have plenty of stuff left to do. First up is my two Vorreiters for Bauhaus. I have these based and airbrushed for quite some time now and finally I got around to finish these up.

Not my favorite models in the Bauhaus range but when painted up I'm liking them more and more.

Here's two other models I want to finish painting as soon as I can, Max Steiner and Brigadier Rist.

That is all for today, hopefully all of them will be finished soon!

WIP Wednesday: Warriors of Chaos

Well I'm in the spot right now where I could have shown you any of twenty other models that are in the WIP stage right now and I want to finish soon. Right now I can't seem to focus on what to paint so I do a little bit of everything (I'm sure all of us have been there right?). The problem is I also want to actually finish something. I have some models very near completion and I don't have a lot more to do on these two that I want to show you.

These are really testmodels though, a Nurgle Knight not made from my blue Nurgle Warriors and a brand new "undividied" Forsaken. The Forsaken will probably be used as either Slaneesh as this guy or Khorne but really don't want to do two full units of them so I do something in between to it can represent any god. Still some work to be done here but I like so far.

Also have a Nurgle chariot in the works in the background.
That's all for today stay tuned for more finished models and any other random blog post I might do.

WIP Wednesday: Deadzone Battlezone Watchtower/Outpost

A little unusual WIP photo this time as I don't paint much terrain or buildings. I need to however and I have plenty of building materials from my Deadzone Kickstarter so here's some WIP:s of the first building I have built and started to paint.

Did a camo paint job here with my airbrush, I will use this mostly for my Warzone games and on my Venusian Jungle board I'm building so this camo looks really nice and fitting for that setting, as well as working for any future Deadzone games.

I actually glued this building together even if you don't need to. It's to make it hold better and I want to keep this building as it looks anyway. I did want to have the option to play inside it as well so I magnetized one wall for easy taking it on and off. That's all for now, just some weathering and stuff and this building is finished.

WIP Wednesday: Chaos trolls and Forsaken

Just as the Miniature Monday posts I try do to every Monday I will also try to do these showing some WIP photos of the stuff I'm working on at the moment.

Today It's some Warriors of Chaos models. I have come up with how I will paint my Forsaken and it will be a fairly common color scheme there, and with red torsos because I will usually use them as Khorne. However I want to use them as any mark really so I go with this Undivided look.

For the trolls I keep on my blue/grey theme but I painted these up using my Airbrush, which I really do need to practice on and these models are really nice to do that. Quite happy with how they look now but will add a lot of washes and highlights before these are done and hopefully they will look just as good as the ones I have painted previously.

So that's it for it today, now back to watch some Football and paint some models.

Miniature Monday: Imperial Hurricane Walker WIP

I'm almost done with another miniature but didn't quite make it to this Mini Monday so I will show you some WIP shots instead.

I currently working mostly on my Imperials and must try to stay focused to get things finished instead of just jumping to the next project. So my nr.2 and 3 on the list on what to do is the Hurricane above, not that much to be done but I want to make something a little extra on the base as well.

Then I also need to complete my first Blood Berets squad, when that is done I continue on the Trenchers and commander for my Imperial force and after that take a break from them and work on something else (probably my Bauhaus). You will see what's my nr 1 on the to do list in the coming days, so until then take care.

Miniature Monday: Dark Legion Golgotha WIP

Not a super exciting Miniature Monday today I'm afraid. Just didn't have enough time today... I do have two almost finished models that I could either post today or wait until tomorrow when I have finished them up properly. So I instead went with a bad picture on Golgotha, a female Nepharite Warlord in the Dark Legion.

Made some minor changes to the model to make her look a little more like the old version of her. I made a loincloth and clothes for her upper body. Of course I also increased the size of her breasts as well. Might do some more GS work on her before I paint her up, but this is it for now. Take care guys.

A little teaser on one of the two new Necromutants I'm working on which are almost finished.

Miniature Monday: Dragon Ogre and Chaos Ogre WIP:s

I will show you some quite late WIP shots of two test models I'm doing at the moment. First up is the Dragon Ogre which don't have so much work left on him actually. I'm quite happy with how he looks so far, was a bit unsure about the armour and still am. Comments about what you think is much appreciated.

Next up is a Chaos Ogre Standard bearer. I bought eight Ironguts a while ago with the intention of making the into Chaos Ogres instead. I first thought about making them Nurgle looking but I changed my mind and went with a theme more like the rest of the army instead. Still a lot to do on him, but any suggestions, comments or complaints are welcome!

Warriors of Chaos: Kit bashing and Painting

Have been a little lazy on the painting side lately, so things is going slower than expected right now. But I have at least done some stuff for my WoC and here's just a little update on what I have been working on.

First of all, some kit bashing using the Forsaken kit. Which by the way are excellent for conversion purposes and for getting a lot of nice bits. So I put some stuff from that kit unto a warrior to make a Nurgle champion (and a Knight shield), and I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out. For the standard bearer I went with simpler stuff, a standard from the old Pestigors and a Knight head, easy enough.

I also followed the advice I got when I showed you the blue Nurgle warriors the last time, and added some rust to the models. Here's the test models, tell me what you think.

And for last just some WIP photos of some of the stuff I'm painting and want to finish asap. A Chimera (won't do any conversions on this one) which there isn't a huge amount of work left on and a Demonic Mount for my BSB. As always all comments are welcome and hopefully I will post painted miniatures next WoC update.

Warriors of Chaos: Conversion idea gone bad...

Long time since the last update, have not really been busy but I have been sick and stuff so haven't really managed to do anything hobby related lately. I have some stuff coming up as the Daemon Prince and some more WoC stuff but they aren't completely finished yet so you have to do with an failed attempt at making a Tzeentch Skullchrusher count as.

The idea was to have the knights mounted atop of big lions, and there is the problem really. The lions are to small! I haven't seen the Lions of Chrace from the HE Chariot in a long while and didn't remember how big they where. And suddenly there where two chariots up on eBay and I made a gamble and bought them.

Well they where tad to small I think, at least for Chaos Warriors :P As you can see on the pic above they don't look so bad compared to Demigryphs, when the lion is standing a top mountain and rock at least. The main problem though is the size of the rider and the short legs of the lion, is dosn't look menacing and big enough to look like a Skullcrusher count as.

This looks really obvious when directly compared to a Skullchrusher of course. So I have to can this idea and come up with a new idea on what to do with two He Lion chariots, any suggestions?

Warriors of Chaos: Daemon Prince of Tzeentch/Nurgle and more WIP photos

Hey another little WoC update. Working completely with WoC right now as I'm really psyched at getting a full army list ready for battle. And that should not be that hard with the low model count in the army. So one model that is soon finished is the Daemon Prince. And I have painted him as a Daemon Prince that I wanted to have the look as belonging to both Tzeentch and Nurgle, so I can have a model that looks cohesive with the rest of the army (with all the blue colours and what not) but also a hint of him being marked with the mark of Nurgle. My question to you, do you think it works? Or should I do something different?

Next up is my "Nurgle" Warriors with Halberds, same thing here really. The colour of the rest of the army but I also want it to look like it belongs to Nurgle. Does it work? Any other ideas?

For last some WIP photos of a Disc of Tzeentch using various Daemons bitz. This will be the mount for my BSB, c & c is very much welcome.
