News: More Warriors of Chaos pics and info

So now more people seem to gotten their hands on the latest White Dwarf so we now have some more info and even some more and better quality pictures.

I found all of this in the WoC in Feb thread over at Warseer.

First some new pictures from JuSimo and from this thread:

I managed to get a hold on a White Dwarf, so I'll list what I've found about WoC reading it (I'll try not include stuff already mentioned, but some might be repeated):

- Dragon Ogres now have access to Halberds
- Chaos Chariots can arm the passenger (I don't know if the guy in front is armed the same) with a Flail, and if it has the same options as the Gorebeast Chariot a Greatweapon (the Chariot shows Halberd and Flail, the Gorebeast shows GW)
- Characters can be mounted on either chariot, and the kit itself comes with an impressive cloak to represent them, and 4 god-specific heads
- Chaos Knight Champions, called Doom Knights, are S5 (so S6 with Ensorcelled Weapons, S7 with Lances) and have Eye of the Gods
- The Soul Feeder gift has, in the words of the person playing WoC in the battle report, 'gives him a chance of regaining lost wounds in combat' while the Chalice of Chaos gives a 'great, if random, benefit in one of his turns'
- The Chaos Lord in the battle report was got an Eye of the God roll for killing a unit champion. I know they did this when the 7th ed book came out before it was errata'd, but would they make the same mistake twice?
- Forsaken are M6, d3+1 attacks, and have a random special rule granted every turn. One rolled in the battle was 'Always Strikes First'
- The Vorptex Beast's bound spell wasn't really explained, but it seems the 'every model in the unit takes a T test and a spawn is made' is not its only effect. This only triggered in the battle report from rolling a 6 for the effect, so i don't know if the spell gets stronger the higher you roll, or if there's literally up to 6 different effects.
- The Slaughterbeast using the Chaos Lords WS is real, and doesn't say 'unmodified' like the Tomb King's rule does. The Chaos Lord gains 2 +1WS buffs during the game, and the Slaughterbeast got it too
- The Slaughterbeast seems to have an upgrade called 'extra claws'. Assume it means more attacks, which I always like on Monsters
- Gorebeast Chariot is T6, W5, and as stated KB on Impact Hits, and 'loads of attacks'
- Hellriders / whatever they are called are unchanged from November's update like people assumed it would
- Chaos Lords have BS5 now for no apparent reason? Maybe Death's Head thing is still in, or Throwing Axes / Spears?
- Throgg is twice as tall as the current metal Chaos Trolls, and yet still on the same base
- Dragon Ogres kind of make the Shaggoth look tiny by comparison (which is disappointing because I love the Shaggoth model)
- Nothing new about spells or spell lores that haven't already been mentioned (including the options for Lore of Metal for Tzeentch, Death for Nurgle, Shadow for Slaanesh)

News: Changes to Skullcrushers and two more WD pics

It seems we will get some changes to Skullcrushers even if their stats and rules aren't that old. According to these really blurry pics people at Cotec (Chamber of the Everchosen forum) says Skullchrushers now are T4 instead of T5 but with 3 Wounds and more attacks as well as S6 for the Juggernought on the charge. Here's some info posted by the user Dondiego who also posted the pictures below. For more info visit this thread on Cotec.

So it seems. but 3 wounds instead of 2, so combined with the 1+ save i think I prefer the latter ( but I don't have done the math)

Anyway even in the battle report Andrew Kenrick mention them as the Chaos' finest hard-hitters. However is the mark of khorne treated, 3 attacks of juggernaut + 2 of the rider to start with is brutal. I remember you on the turn it charges Juggernaut have Strength 6! Let's hope they contain the point cost.

Edit: it is barely visible on the top image, but the Chaos Lord on daemonic steed converted to Khorne is absolutely fabulous :Q

The forsaken kit costs a LOT but there are heads for each of the 4 chaos gods.

The chariot kit contains enough pieces to mount a character on the chariot with several weapon options

The dragonogre kit contains all weapon options

Rumours: Warriors of Chaos WD rules compilation

I tried to find what info has been leaked from WD lately regarding WoC over at Warseer, easier said than done. But luckily I found a kind soul who had done the same thing and collected all of it into one post, that post can be found here and is written by wamphyri101. So many thanks for that. Here's what he wrote:

No more marked Marauders?
Advance Orders 26th January for release on the 2nd of Feb

New stuff:

New Book
Magic Cards

Trogg
Vilitch
Lord Model

Forsaken
Dragon Ogres
Gorebeast Chariot/ Chariot

Mutalith Vortex Beast
Slaughterbrute

Stuff we know from White Dwarf:

Forsaken are a core choice. Forsaken are M6 and D3+1 A. Has it's own D6 chart. One result is ASF.

Chaos Knights now buy enscrolled weapons as an upgrade

WILL OF CHAOS is not listed beneath lords, heroes, knights etc. Only eye of the gods

Mutalith has a bound spell ranged 18’’
Seems it does a toughness test (model/unit?) and there is chances of chaos spawns being produced

Marauders did not seem to have marks

Slaughter beast is a rare choice and is a bound monster. It is bound to your lord and can have the lords WS.

Gorebeast chariot is T6 5W. high Armour save (2+?). It has KB even on Impact hits. Slower than a normal chariot

Dragon Ogres are on 50 x 75mm bases

Two book items are:
chalice of chaos
soul feeder gift

MAGIC

marked casters can choose a different lore or stick with their mark:

Tzeentch: Lore of Metal
Slaanesh: Lore of Shadow
Nurgle: Lore of Death

Sig Spell:
Tzeentch is Blue fire. 24" D6 SD6 MM.

Slaanesh is Lash of slaanesh. 24" straight line form the base in forward arc of the caster. Every model under the line receives S3 AP hit.

Nurgle Sig spell is a Template. You place breath tempalte at the base of the caster.
All models beneath are forced to test T or suffer 1 W with no AS.

Nurgle Attribute is that on a succsessful cast roll a D6. On roll of 6 the casters T an W are both increased by 1 to the end of the game.

Slaanesh Attribute is for every wound caused by a spell, roll a D6. if a 6 is rolled the caster recieves +1ws/+1A/+1I

Tzeentch Attribute is for every 6 rolled on a successful cast, that caster recieves an additional PD. But only that caster can use the additional dice

Guardians of the Covenant: Rhino finished

And the re painting session continues. I don't know why it takes so much longer than I had expected though. It feels like when I finish something on a model which looked fine from the start I must continue and "upgrade" that model more and more. And it almost takes as long as to paint the whole thing up from scratch.

Well not really but it feels like that, at least with the latest model I re painted and that's a Rhino for the Tac squad I finished last time. And I have re painted this one quite extensively with re doing the red on hull, a lot more highlights, battle damage, some minor weathering work, scrolls etc. I'm very pleased with how it turned out in the end though and that's what matters. If you want to compare with the old one look if it was worth or not you can check out the old version here.

Guardians of the Covenant: New look Tac squad finished!

Hi there, as I have said in previous posts I'm in the works of repainting my GotC models, because I didn't really like how they look. Something was missing and I found out what. I needed some Dark Angel green in there, to make them look more similar to their parent chapter as well as break up the colours from the metal and the red.

So this is how I will paint them. Metal and green backpacks, the chest crests in green (DA green then Warpstone Glow and finally Warpstone glow and some added white), green eye lenses and the original DA 5th Company knee pad. In my opinion this looks a lot better, especially on the robed marines where I thought they got too red in the colour scheme I used before.

Other than this I also updated some of the colours, so extra highlights, some tidying up, added some more basing materials etc. Well I'm really happy with the new look and now I'm really psyched at continuing painting these Unforgiven up. And soon they will get some reinforcements in the form of 2 boxes of Deathwing Command, 1 Ravenwing Command and a Dark Talon. So expect more 40k and more Guardians  of the Covenant in the near future.

News: Many more Warriors of Chaos pics!!

So now more Feb White Dwarf images are popping up. Like the new monsters called Slaughterbeast and Mutalith Vortex Beast, Dragon Ogres and a new chariot variant called Gorebeast Chariot, Throgg, Vilitch and more. Many thanks to Kuffeh who shared  the links to these pictures. Enjoy.
Dragon Ogres
Slaughterbeast
Mutalith Vortex Beast

Chaos Chariot

Gorebeast Chariot

Forsaken

Throgg the Troll King

Vilitch

Chaos Lord
Comment: I like most of the stuff actually. I like both the beasts although the Vortex Beast most, the Dragon Ogres looks really good in my opinion, which is awesome as I didn't have high hopes for them after reading 75Hastings69 rumours. A little bit unsure about the Chariot and the Gorebeast, a little odd looking plating I think but other than that quite nice. Forsaken is kind of hard too see here but not that impressed by them either but should make a good kitbash for Warriors if not fielded as Forsaken. I don't know what I think about Throgg, I like it I think but he also looks odd in some kind of way. Vilitch I liked quite much, even if he didn't really look like the artwork in the 7ed book. For last the Chaos Lord, I like the model, especially that it's in plastic and not Finecast, I will probably do an head swap on him though.

All in all I like what I'm seeing, and I think when seeing them in the flesh and with your paint on them they will look even better, damn I will be poor the coming future :.(.

News: Warriors of Chaos for Feb!

I saw these blurry pics over at Faeit 212. And it means we get the WoC armybook and a lot of new models in Feb and not Daemons as most rumours was saying. Awesome but I don't know how my wallet can handle this.
