Tzeentch pictures from Jan 17 White Dwarf!

Just got my latest issue of White Dwarf today, and there's a lot of Tzeentch goodies in there. Just the first couple of releases so far but also a lot of info about the new Faction for Age of Sigmar. Thought I'd share the pictures from all the Tzeentch stuff, hopefully this gets you as excited as I am.

Really decent prize tags!

We see some Tzaangor Skyfires as well

Fighting against Free Guild and Devoted of Sigmar

Cool art of the Kairic Acolytes

Lovely artwork here! And we are seeing classic dwarfs..ehm Duardin which looks like Ironbreakers and even Gyrocopters.

A lot of options for the Tzaangor, including a banner which isn't that common in newer AoS kits.

Lovely artwork, left one is a Silver Tower.

Back of the magazine shows an Tzeentch army in all it's glory. Added Slaves to Darkness units as well!

News: The new releases shown in Nov White Dwarf

Got my White Dwarf today but haven't read through it enough to give you an review just yet. But there was a couple of surprises for me in the new releases section that I thought was interesting.

Haemotrope Reactors for 40k, really nice looking. And for AoS an re release of the Balewind Vortex (so no more OP vortex for those who moan about that) and the Magewrath Throne but without the skulls underneath?! Hopefully they release the skull mountain as a separate kit.

New Hero bases for both 40k and AoS!

Of course the main release of the month The Burning of Prospero

In the right lower corner there is a new thingy I haven't seen before, an repair kit for when your models brake during gaming!
What do you guys think about the new releases?

Review: White Dwarf October 2016

Got my White Dwarf today (yay) and it is continuing in the new monthly format of course, and there's much to enjoy in here for sure. So on with the review shall we?

First up, there's still a lot of stuff for both systems, but as the new releases where mostly 40k with the Genestealer Cults as the big release this wasn't a big surprise. Even though I'm not that into 40k at them moment there are some really nice articles in there like the 'Ultimate guide to Genestealer Cults' that gives you all the basic info about them. We have a nice battle report featuring said Cults of course spotted against Deathwatch, and you are also given an WD exclusive mission.

Oh and you get free stuff with issue too, this time you get the Issue 0 of Will of Iron with Dark Angels! Awesome stuff, haven't read trough it yet but I really like how it looks. And I hope GW is continuing with these Freebies (a download for Total War: Warhammer is in the next one from what Iv'e seen) because it's really great and adds value to the magazine.

A lot of stuff for the new big release of course.

Kit bash is an official thing again!

Teasing us the new Warhammer World only model :( Want it!

New Hobbit stuff, and new texture paints as well. Great I use them quite a lot and here's more of it.

OMG cards for all the heroes released so far in Silver Tower! And new heroes, love this!

Article about the new comic with interview with the author among other things, really nice for us comic book fans.

Hall of Fame: Smaug, with interviews with the designers of the model and painter. Love this model and the studio paint job by Aidan Daly is truly amazing.

Space Wolves is this army of the month, a lot of great stuff in this huge army.

A big interview with Jes Goodwin, one of the earliest members of the Citadel Miniatures Design team and who have made many iconic models over the years. Great read.

Really cool armies on parade, both for AoS and 40k.

The Ultimate Guide to Genestealer Cults spans over several pages and is really cool to read.

Fold out of the two armies in this months Battle report.

Many nice AoS illustrations.

Golden Daemon award winners, here's the Slayer Sword wining model Gutrot Spume, amazing!

Tale of four Warlords continues showing each warlords progress, and with some little painting tips on how they painted their models.

Masterclass is back! Here we learn how to paint faces, truly in depth especially compared to Paint Splatter.
Parade Ground with Les Martin's truly nice looking Stormcast army.

That's it, of course there's plenty of other stuff to read and look trough in here like Blanchitsu. I have just read it through fast so far and I will go and read it again now. I think just like the last issue this format is something you can flip trough, read an article. Then come back again, check out a paint tutorial, then come again etc etc. I feel it has a great mix of things, and even if this was mostly 40k there's plenty of AoS as well and many great articles to read. Just as the last issue I highly recommend this one.

Review: White Dwarf Sept 2016 Monthly WD is back!

I got the new monthly White Dwarf today so I thought I needed to come back to make reviews again, especially with this old new format. So what is like then?

In short, great! More than great actually, I finally think GW is getting back to it's roots with this issue and they get a lot of stuff into this 148 page tome of a magazine.

First up here's five things I got extra excited about:

1. Free mini! And a lovely Slaughter Priest as well, great choice.

2. Battle Reports! I so missed the battle reports, now they are back and I loved it.

3. Tale of four Warlords. It's like the old tale of four gamers, it's AoS based and I loved how they wrote how they choose the colour scheme of their armies etc. Excited to see more from these Warlords.

4. Boxed Game Specials. I loved these, new stuff like missions, character sheets etc. for all of their current boxed games including AoS, Deathwatch Overkill, Gorechosen. Silver Tower and even Space Hulk. Really awesome.

5. The contact with the readers and hobbyists, this is something GW have changed a lot lately and it shows in the magazine as well. Great questions from the readers and great answers as well, and even some words from Dan Heelan and Wayne Kemp from Heelanhammer Podcast. Love how they recognize all the people that do so much for the community, it's just great.

Planet Warhammer is the news section showing off the new releases, coming digital games etc.

More detailed questions and good answers, even a link to a tutorial on how to take better photos of your models.

White Dwarf is back, even if it's a repainted Unforged I think this is pretty neat.

Tale of four Warlords features Sylvaneth, Nurgle, Ironjawz and undead Malignants.

Army of the month is an large Eldar force

New missions for Space Hulk!

Use your new Slaughterpriest in WQ: Silver Tower

Or use the Grombrindal himself inside the Silver Tower, or AoS!

This part is showing illustrations and explaining what is going on, much more interesting than it sounds. It was about Deathwatch this month and will return in each new issue.

Look at those armies, huge! And the bat rep was great.

Lovely landscape for the battle.

Loved this little segment taking us back to October 1996, hope to see more of this.

A lot of pictures showing us the battlescape from Warhammer World. A lot of explaining as well how it was built etc.

Blanchitsu is still around with more awesome warbands.

These painting tutorials is still pretty basic but good still.

Verdict: I really liked this issue of White Dwarf, it's much better than the weekly ones. And much better than the version before, it's more hobby orientated and feels more like the White Dwarfs of old, but with less ads. Sure there´s still some ads but not much and nothing that distracts you at all.

All in all I loved this issue, even if it was much Wh40k in there which does not interest me as much there's plenty for everyone (Not Hobbit/LOTR fans though, there's nothing of that in here.). The best thing is that there was so many usable stuff, like all the add ons to the boxed games and even a free mini. Once again I feel I will revisit this issue many times and still discover something new to read, not like the weekly issues where I read it once and then put it away.

Can't recommend it enough.
