Miniature Monday: Stormcast Eternals Paladin Protectors

Continuing working on my Stormcasts, and I really worked hard to pretty much paint these guys up during the past week.

I don't know if it show or not but a lot of time and effort is in the armour itself with all the highlights and what not. It's worth it though because the whole miniature is covered armour.

I really like the Protectors both as how the models look as well as in the rules, and I'm glad I'm finished with these guys. The sad thing is that I'm working towards having ten of these, ten Retributors and ten Decimators, so far five Retributors and five Protectors are done. But I'm getting faster painting these guys actually so... I'll get there.

Until then here's the first five. Next up is some gaming actually during the weekend and painting wise I will paint up something different. Probably something for Silver Tower but we will see. Cheers!

Miniature Monday: Judicators

Another unit added to my Lions of Sigmar, the Judicators. Really nice unit to paint actually, quite easy the reach with your brush anywhere, no shield or anything in the way and such. I put some time into them though and hopes it shows.

Will take a full army picture the coming days as well as the army looks quite nice together now. Anyway that's it for today, cheers guys!

Miniature Monday: War Altar of Sigmar

I've decided I wanted some Devoted of Sigmar in to accompany my Stormcast Eternals. And now I finally my converted War Altar, but I did a little more than just rebasing of this model.

You can see how it looked before here. And even if I liked how it looked before It didn't work as good with my Lions of Sigmar Stormcast. It was purple but the wrong tint of purple. So I redid all this on both the flagellants and the wagon.

The Arch Lector was before a High Priest of Morr, but since the End Times Morr is no more. I didn't want to change it altogether, I like the statue, the roses etc. but the High Priest looked a little out of place. So I changed him into Death Mage and put the original Arch Lector on top of the War Altar instead. So I painted him up in matching colors, did some more touch ups etc. and here is the final result.

Liked how it turned out, and the model looks so much nicer on a big oval base I must say. Please tell me what you think, and if anyone out there has tried it in AoS please tell me what you think about it.

Celestant-Prime Finished

Hi there folks, have been painting like crazy for some time now and all that time I have put into this model... the Celestant-Prime.

I must confess I was actually quite intimidated and excited at the same time before I decided to paint this model up. It's a really beautiful model first of all, with a lot of details everywhere. Also it's that kind of model that don't take kindly to mistakes therefor I painted this one in many different parts before assembling it all together.

It was intimidating also because I knew this was a model I wanted to do the very best of my abilities when it comes to painting.

So I'm very happy to say that this model is probably the best paintjob Iv'e ever done and I have used pretty much all of the knowledge I have into this model. I think it paid of and I'm proud of how it turned out in the end.

Hope you like it too, now I'm off to paint up some more of the grunts for my Stormcast force.

Minature Monday: Stormcast Eternals Starter Set finished

Hey there, this will be my biggest Miniature Monday so far. It's actually not one, but two new units that is finished and that concludes the whole Stormcast Eternals part of the AoS Starter Set finished. I know I know, some guys finished it in a week. But I'm a slow painter, and I might have done some other bits and bobs in the meantime.

Anyway, glad it's finished and I must say I really like the look of it. Currently painting my Celestant-Prime and I have more reinforcements to the army. Will also buy some of the newest kits, dracoth cav riders looks awesome.

Next up is my second unit of Liberators. I will add more models to both units so they get their big weapons as well.

And I also finished my Prosecutors, damn hard to get good pictures of a whole unit of these, so I took a couple. Like how they turned out though and will add a second unit of these from the starter set.

Miniature Monday: Orruks and Grots!

Continuing on my work on converting my Orcs and Goblins into Orruks and Grots (ugh... hate calling them Grots... ) for Age of Sigmar.

This is not only a change of base from squares to rounds, I also repaint them quite extensively into the new colors I think I will go with for my Forces of Destruction. Mainly black and orange, also I redo their skins into real green skin even if it's paler to most Orc/Goblin skins.

Anyway, I quite like how they are shaping up. Please tell me what you think.

Miniature Monday: Lions of Sigmar Lord-Relictor

Got some more Stormcast Eternals for you today, the Lord-Relictor! This dude took a lot more time to paint than what I first had thought for sure. The icon he has took a lot of time, as well as all the scrolls. But I like how he turned out in the end, regretted a little that I did no conversions, I have seen many really cool on the web and twitter.

They are really cheap to buy separate on eBay though so I might do a new one sometime in the future. But before that I have a lot of other stuff to do, next up for the Stormcasts are two more Prosecutors.

Miniature Monday: Mutalith Vortex Beast

Cheating a little here, this beast was finished for quite some time and I did nothing with the paintwork when I re-based this guy, I was happy with how he looked already. I did however put some extra effort into his base, as I got the idea that the magical vortex is tearing up the ground around him and magical energy is pouring out.

I might have overdone it but I quite like the effect, tell me what you think in the comments! I really like this model, it suits Tzeentch so well so he will be a nice centerpiece for my upcoming Tzeentch army. Now I just need to get some matching Chaos Spawns in case he summons some up in my games.

Miniature Monday: AoS Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord

Continuing working on my rebasing of my entire WoC army and here's the latest one. You might remember this one, I painted it quite some years ago. I liked how it looked, but it could look better and I got an idea.

The vortex on my Mualith Vortex Beast looked really good in my opinion, it was painting using one of WoC painting guides for the iPad from GW. So I went looked up what colors I used, and used them to repaint the flaming skull on this model.

And I liked the result! So much as I will use this color scheme for my Tzeentch army on flames, magical stuff and what not.

I did a fair bit of repainting on this model so now it is pretty much an totally new model. Still bit unsure on the grey/white robes, maybe should have gone with something darker there...

What do you guys think? Tell me in the comments.

Re-did the base as well, the guy is magnetized as well. Think I will add this effect on some other bases as well in the army to make them look more interesting.

Miniature Monday: Chaos Trolls rebased for AoS

Yeah I'm cheating a little here, not really new models, but new bases and I think they got an whole new and more dynamic look.

These models where a pain to rank up, especially with Throgg in the unit as well. So the new round bases makes this much easier (Throgg is almost done as well), and with the dynamic poses these models have I think the round (50 mm in this case) bases looks awesome. What do you think?

Did this as easy as I could. As Iv'e put a lot of work into bases before I wanted to keep that and just transfer them over to rounds. 40 mm would look to small so I went with 50 mm, cut of the edges and the cut away all the square excess. I then glued it on top of the new round base, used PVS, sand, some rocks and stuff to build up the rest around the old base. It takes some time, but this way I could keep the work Iv'e already done to the bases.

Stormcast Eternals - First Liberator unit finished (Lions of Sigmar)

First unit of Liberators are done in my take on the 'Lions of Sigmar' chamber. Beem working on a tutorial on how I painted these and hopefully it will be up tomorrow.

Not much more to say other than that it was really fun to paint these guys up. And the photos are not top notch right now and are not really showing the real colors, dunno why?! But it there will be better ones for the tutorial so if you like these, come back the coming days to see how I painted them. And if you have any question, suggestion or whatever just ask in the comments.
