Unboxing Warzone: Resurrection - Cybertronic Enhanced Machinators

Standing at over 12 feet tall and with a predatory instinct the cybernetic constructs are implemented in a ranger role where the excel at stealth tactics.

The completely redesigned and exquisitely engineered Enhanced Machinators are extremely expensive to produce, containing Cuirassier electronics and cutting edge engineering. As such they are currently a rarity on the battlefield. Scientists are investigating methods to both reduce manufacturing costs and to utilise the A.I. as squad commanders for the basic Machinators. By developing and investigating command loop protocols, it is hoped that instead of deploying the enhanced version in large units it can be deployed singly, with a command of the original Machinators, although such processes are far from finalised. Pavlaski’s Enhanced Machinators are nigh on indestructible; built with hardened alloys that are resistant to all but the most powerful of ballistic weaponry; the perfect tool for covert operations, with joints that move with an inhuman grace and silence. They are the masters of rapid assault with elongated legs and cybernetic tendons that give a gazelle-like leap and the ability to jump into and out of cover in near silence. Suffice to say, this contemporary take on the Machinator design is perfect for missions of assassination, reconnaissance and infiltration.

Text from the Prodos Shop

This is the unboxing of the new version of the Enhanced Machinators, the first version was made during for the Kickstarter. You will see an comparison in the end of this unboxing, and I think we all can agree the new versions looks much better. Anyway on to this then.

All the contents, three models, four arm configurations, three 40mm bases and one stat card.

Same card as before, showing the old KS design in the artwork. Still really nice though.

Back of the card showing you the rules of their special skills among the other things. These guys thrives on terrain  heavy boards with their jumping skills. [Card is actually wrong here saying the TSW4000 LMG, it should be SSW4200P ‘Suppressor’ HMG as seen in it's rules text]

Sprue with the bodies of the models, you can build these guys without the use of glue (you just put the arms and the ball joints snaps into the sockets and stays there) not counting gluing them into the base.

The armor have lots of really tiny and delicate details.

You have all three with 'Striker' Assault Rifles or change one for the SSW4200P ‘Suppressor’ HMG.
Assembly is so easy, clip of the sprue and put them on. Take them of when you paint if you like and put them on again, or change weapons. You don't even need magnets, love it!

Again here you can see the delicate and small details, lovely models.

Comparison with an old KS version. First of all the old ones are not bad models at all, I quite liked the look of them. But these new ones are so nice it blows them out of the water. But they blow many sci fi models out of the water if you ask me, Necrons would shit their pants if they met these guys in an dark alley.

Big difference in details.
Big armored robots with skull masks? What not to like? All in all awesome looking models, these look like Terminator (Arnold you know) on steroids.  I have just started on my Cybertronic force, but soon I can't stand the wait to paint these guys up. Really like their rules as well.

Unboxing Warzone Resurrection: Baron Leopold von Jaeger III

Jaeger considers himself a hunter more than a military man; he spent his childhood honing the art of the hunt in the jungles of House Piquarde, near Helmutsport on Venus. The skills he developed while hunting Devilcat, Venusian Python and alike on his ancestral home, have placed him in good stead within the Bauhaus Military and specifically the Bauhaus Artillery Korps (BAK), where he has excelled for 40 or so years. He is a strange sight to behold upon the battlefield, decked in the finery of a Bauhaus Kapitan, over which he wears his tatty fifty year old heavy leather hunting jacket. Perched upon his arm is his faithful hunting hawk ‘Hans’.

He wears a monocle and has the most magnificent of mustaches. Jaeger’s talents have afforded him the leniency of his superiors in regards to his less than standard tactics and appearance. When an enemy needs to be hunted in a brash show of Bauhaus military force, Jaeger is the man for the job. His befuddled appearance abelies a shrewd and tactical mind, a mind that sees a battle as something beneath him; much rather would he be hunting down a stealthy and intelligent foe in a series of precise attacks and feints, finally finishing the worthy opponent in a large, precise and devastating bombardment, obliterating them from existence. He scorns any mission given to him that does not spark his hunter’s interest, giving it the least of his attention. This has led to no end of disciplinaries, but his exemplary record elsewhere has ensured his current batch of superiors utilize the ‘old Baron’ where he is at his best.

Jaeger will always be found amongst the howitzers and cannons of his korps, surrounded by tables filled with maps and antiquated instruments of cartography and survey, reams of ink and guava splattered plans billow in the wind, detailing his target and the intricacies of the particular hunt. He will often go beyond his station, taking control of the larger army, ignoring the counter of his field superiors, wielding their men as if his own. Placing them, repositioning them and distributing them ready so that they will funnel the prey. Constantly muttering to himself as he discusses his plans with Hans, often getting into loud argument with the tempestuous bird as it’s ‘suggestions’ infuriate the Baron. Eventually, the moment will come when he has positioned, or funnelled, his prey. ‘Check mate’ he will mutter under his breath as Hans squawks and flaps in excitement. ‘FIRE!’ he screams before his guns reply.

The Baron is an new addition to the MC universe, and a really cool one as well. Ingame he can do some nice things making your Artillery more effective. So on to what we get in the box then.

Here's all the things you get in the box, one 30 mm round lipped base, the model an one stat card.

On the backside you see how to assemble him.

The model comes in three parts, details are excellent and I didn't find any mold lines or air bubbles at all.

The stat card with all the necessary information you need to use him in your games. Love the art here as well.
A great addition to your artillery.
Many nice little details, like his shoulderpads, medals and the monocle. Oh and the shell he is standing on.

I might have put his right arm a little wrong but that is easily solved with greenstuff.

Here he is assembled, really easy to put together with super glue. The details is really crisp just check out the markings on his shoulderpads, lovely! The model oozes character and I can't wait to get him painted and put him on the battlefield.

Unboxing Warzone Resurrection: Imperial MegaDeck

I got plenty of new stuff from Prodos Games yesterday and among them three of the new MegaDecks, where you get the new cards to use in the game. So first my thoughts in the change of format on the cards.

The old cards where in a very strange size, and they didn't have rounded corners, which made them difficult to shuffle. Especially without damaging the cards. So you go out and buy sleeves to protect your cards right? Yeah I finally managed to find some, and bought a bunch. I had to ship them from the US so it wasn't cheap, and they where also to thin for my taste. But they worked.

With the new cards it's a little easier to say the least. They are in standard format, you know the old Doomtrooper CCG set in the Mutant Chronicles universe? Or a little cardgame called Magic: The Gathering? There you have the standard format with rounded corners and everything.

So it's a nice change, makes it much easier to find sleeves for your cards to protect them, they take less space on the table (it actually makes a difference!). Of course this means I have hundreds of useless cards now, but I think Prodos had to do this change so rather sooner than later right?

There's also a change in how you get the cards, before you got them in the starters and with every miniature you bought. And while that is good and all (you didn't need to buy another box with just the cards) it also made some of the cards harder to get if you didn't buy many boxes of the same model kits. So this balances out the game and does not make you buy kits or additional kits just to get more copies of a certain card (this probably mostly a problem really competitive players had). You still get statcards of course in your kits, but to get your decks now you have to buy the MegaDeck box for your faction. OR, you can go to Prodosgames.com and via their download page get all the decks in PDF format to print out for free (quicklink here).

Soooo, now when that is out of the way, on to the actual unboxing of this particular MegaDeck, for the Imperial Corporation.

You get all the cards in this little nifty box

Here's a comparison to the old cards, as you can see, smaller size and rounded corners.

Here's just a comparison with and old Doomtrooper card and a Magic: The Gathering card. The new Warzone cards is glossy like the old ones, I would prefer less glossy cards but in sleeves this does not make any real difference.

Here's all the different Tactical cards you get, and you get five copies of each, because the is the max you can have in the same deck.  So here's 90 Tactical cards and the 12 Resource cards.

You get three copies of each Gear card and same here because that's how many you can have in the same deck. All in all 39 cards.

Same goes for the Strategy cards, three of each all in all 36 of them.

I haven't gone trough all and compared the cards, but there is some changes to the cards as you can see above. Both of these cards got better for example.

Here's some differences as well Gamma Ray got completely revamped. And I understand why the old version didn't really make sense. Offensive Sentry  got more clearer in the ruling and we now also know that it has RS 12.
So conclusion time then, I like the box and the new cards better than the old. You see the text just as good as on the old ones but have an standard size that makes your gaming life a little bit simpler. You also get some clarifications on the rules on some of them to make them more understandable. If you should get these boxes or go with the PDFs is a matter of taste and of course if you want to pay some money to get real cards instead of printed ones. I for one prefer the real deal.

Miniature Monday: Cybertronic Chasseur

Quite some time since the last Miniature Monday from me, but now I'm eager to bring this back and put up photos of some newly finished models each Monday. So what is in store for today then, well this mini has been finished for some time now but haven't had time to show it. It's the first model and test piece for my Cybertronic Chasseurs. I have made one model for this force until now, the Exterminateur which can be found here. And this Chasseur is following in the same color scheme.

These pictures weren't all that great I'm afraid (didn't use my Tripod) and I also see I need some more work on the skin (another highlight would do wonders) when I see these pics. But this army is supposed to be quite fast to paint so I don't know yet. It looks quite alright in my eyes, anyway hope you like it.
