Age of Sigmar: Latest rumors



We grab at every little bit of info now because we still don't know much about Age of Sigmar/9th ed or not etc.

Don't have anything new I'm afraid but here are the latest stuff,

This rumour don't sound too off contentwise, but could be just an educated guess from Steve (someone among the rumormongers that is much of a hit or miss when coming to rumors if I recall it correctly) 

Next one is from Faet212.

We have some solid information now that looks like it was accidentally put onto the German Games Workshop website. The best part is that we have the screenshots that reveal that the Age of Sigmar will come with Free Rules.


I have checked the website, and this is no longer there, or at least that I could find.

Please take this as a rumor right now, until at least someone can either find it or verify it. I have closely checked the images and the site, and it all seems to line up.

This sounds plausible as well, GW want's as many people as possible to try out the new game, free rules is great for that. They can bring out a nice Rulebook, with more fluff, scenarios etc. and people can buy that if they want (and if people get's into the game most probably will) or just play with the free rules. This isn't something totally new to GW, they had all the specialist games rule books in free pdfs for a long time, like Mordheim and Inquisitor, but those where on the other hand dead games.

Initial word for week 2 was:
-Giant hawk based triple unit-combo kit
-Mounted unit (stags)
Todays batch of gamer magnifying glass examination reveals:
The various pictures going around have shown what appears to be 2 distinct types of mounted deer/stags of some type, so it seems a safe bet we can pencil those in (almost certainly a combo-kit).
A new character with two axes
The Eternal Guard box looks to be are a dual-kit with Waywatchers.

1) The uploader account to imgur is named "salty"
2) The art is very inconsistent with known GW artists and styles. Some is old GW art, while some seems very out of character for GW . At least one has an obvious artist signature on the piece which GW tends to disallow. If its a fan-made set, there are probably lifted pieces of art from places like Deviantart.
3) The pagenumbers are odd. Most WFB armybooks do not get into the unit description pages until the mid 30s. The earlier pages are the introduction and army background.

Rumours: Dwarfs Wave Two

So, I don't know if this has been discussed already, but a LGS near me was accidentally selling next week's White Dwarf early. The Dwarfs have a Gyrobomber coming, this kit also makes a new Gyrocopter. They are also getting a new Runelord, and Engineer Character, and the next White Dwarf has a picture of the new Dwarf Army Book. Also, if you look closely, you can see new Dwarf Ironbreakers. This new Ironbreakers kit also looks like it builds some kind of blunderbuss wielding shooting unit. This blunderbuss carrying unit might also have the option to build some kind of flamethrower gun, I'm not sure.

New Gyrobomber/Gyrocopter kit.

New Runelord.

Grainy pictures in next White Dwarf of new Ironbreakers, and it seems this kit also builds new ranged unit with large gun or blunderbuss option and possible flamethrower option.

Rumours: The latest about Dwarfs and Wood Elves

These rumours showed up a couple of days ago but I missed them out, and if you did too here they are:

Found this rumour via librarium-online, who have translated a post by Ajota on the Spanish Eye of Terror forums.

Dwarfs are due in "early 2014"(other sources says March)
Dwarfs news, next army to make their appearance could include:

Comment: Can be a solid rumour or a well educated guess. Sounds interesting though, but don't if they are interesting enough. The kit's themselves could be awesome and may get me start to paint up my Dwarfs again but then the rules has to follow that too. Really interested in how these kits will look though, damn I will be poor the month they are released.

GW has to do really nice Slayers to beat the Avatars of War ones

Hi Guys, new to the forum but a long time Wood Elves player.

The rumour is that the Wood Elves release is May 2014 and I have found some potential rules and releases translated from a Spanish forum, not sure about the accuracy but here goes:

Army wide ASF ( elves only )
- Hawkeye ( only elves , reroll one to hit, single shots)
- Spirit of the Forest ( unstable magical attacks, hatred , 5 + ward save , harmony with the forest )
- Elven Bow ( f4 , rapid fire , extra row )
- Saearath ( cc weapon , +1 Strength , + 1 SEspecial , spears )
- Explorers / Ambushers ( NDT : not what it is )

Forest Guard : Elvish Bow , Hawkeye

Comment: These rumours also seems plausible, especially the special army wide rules. Some strange names here's but I think that is because of the translation in some cases. Anyway can't wait to see Wood Elves back in action, it has always been a really nice looking army.

News: Pics and rules from the new Dark Elves Army Book!

Okey we got to see the new Dark Elves stuff this weekend in White Dwarf. But there where several units missing in this months release actually and we will soon get even more Dark Elves stuff. These pics and info comes via HERO's Gaming Blog, so cheers to him.













That's a potentially solid debuff. What's the Ld of the beasts?
hydra is 6445552(3+remaining wounds)6, 160pts, 4+AS, 20pts for flame breath and 20pts for a 8'' shooting with multiple shots=remaining wounds, s=remaining wounds. kharibdyss is 650755456, 160pts, 4+AS, poison attack, abyssal howl(reroll successful ld test), feast of bones(if all attack hits, auto hit D6 S7 hits afterwards.)

well it's now a 5+ scaly skin.

Just guessing now that zhangyi has left, but given that the scroungerunner's cost includes the bolt thrower, I'm quite sure the High Beastmaster can man the bolt thrower.

Thanks....what are the rules for the Fleet Admiral and the Beastmaster characters?
they're both lord choice. fleetmaster is 155pts with 566433739. he has two hand weapons, light armour and sea dragon cloak. can take 50pts magic items. have a special rule called show no weakness that if he's fighting in a challenge or killed a character and still alive, the unit he joins become unbreakable till the end of that turn. high beastmaster is 300pts which must take a manticore or scourgerunner chariot by free. his 577433839 with spear, light armour and see dragon cloak. can take 100pts magic items. have a special rule called beastslaver that at the start of each of your turns, choose a friendly monster within 3''. that monster get +D3 A till the start of your next turn.

Hydra and Kharibdyss
and one more thing... hydra and the kharibdyss both are monsters now, without handlers. though u can see two on their base, they're nothing about them in the rules.

Magic items aren't that great but everything else seems awesome. Is malus the exact same? What's the pricing on sorcereress and lords?
he's been changed slightly, now the daemon gives him +1 to WS,S,T,I and frenzy. any to hit roll of 1 hit a friendly model in base contact. supreme sorcerer is 185pts with lvl3, dreadlord is 140pts. sorcerer is 80pts with lvl1.

Rules for kuran and tullaris?
kouran 596432739 join bg and make them unbreakable. have a +2s crimson death, and a 5+AS with armour of grief which make a S5 hit every time an opponent hit him. tullaris 566432739 join ex and make them frenzy. have a magic great weapon which called the first draich that gives him 5+KB

Are they champions or moved to hero slots?
moved to hero slot, u see they have w2 both.

at the end of your phase if it still alive, u roll the number of dice equals the lost wounds. every 4+ it regain a wound.

This is nuts! If I don't go WE I may go with these girls and march and charge them up the field before they can get shot to pieces. Are they khanites and do they get the same bonuses from CoB as WE's?
no they're not brides of khaine, they're arena fighters. COB can give them 6+ ward save if join them... but still if they're 6'' within COB they can reroll all the failed rolls to wound. and COB have a bound spell can make them frenzy.

Which special characters are in, which are out?
they stay the same. no new special characters.

What does the magic item section look like, Do I still have access to the Hydra Banner (fingers crossed)
from my first glance they're not as good as HE. only 10 items, including one 100pts nearly useless sword(hydra blade, +D6 A, every close combat phase u must make a -2LD test or suffer -5WS, but gain HKB.) and one 100pts useless banner(banner of nagarythe, the unit take it will unbreakable). hydra banner is not there any longer, so does the banner make cosair frenzy.

Does Malekith get cheaper? Don't need points just wondering.
yes, he's only 510pts on foot. didnt change much of his rules, now the circlet grants him an bonus dice if failed his casting/dispelling attempts once per magic phase.

points and options for black guard and cold ones pls. Also what does the medusa chariot thing do?
BG=15pts, EX=12pts, cold one knight=30pts. the chariot make units from this book in 6'' +1LD, and all others -1LD, called aura of agony.

Witch Elves keep poison? How does Power of Darkness work? Available lores?
yes they keep poison. power of darkness is one of the two signature spell, which cast on 8+, target the caster's unit. all models in unit get +1S until the caster's next magic phase, and recover D3 casting dice, if you rolled 3 dice, the caster suffer a wound that cant be saved by armour. dark elf have access to all eight lores this time, cheers.

can you list the magic items and new spell lore. Do executioners still have Killing blow or are they now D3 wounds
still KB, not D3 wounds.

rbt and handbow rules? what about the bleakswords? any rules for them? What about shades? do they still have options for great weapons?
rbt is now special and 70pts, u can take four.(yes four) handbow become 12'', the rest stay the same. bleakswords have no other rules have to be metioned, 9pts. shades is 16pts, hand weapon and repeater crossbow, no armour. u can take great weapon or two hand weapons by 2pts/per model.

hows the assassin looking ? Manbane ? Repeater Bows armor piercing ?
90pts with poison attack. can get two hand weapon or a handbow. access to 50pts magic items and one of three poison. one is to wound roll+1, one is KB, the other is if u wound a model, his LD-1 for the rest of the game.

Is there a sac dagger and pendent?
yes the dagger is there. no pendent.

sac dagger
everytime when u cast a spell but before dispelling, u can use the dagger. remove a man from the unit, and roll a D6, 4+ u get an extra dice and must be rolled and add to the result, then opponent try to dispell. if u roll 1-3 then u can try the dagger again and again until you get a dice, or you can simply give up.

what's the chariot with RBT do ? is it special or core ? thx for the pictures and information!
it's my pleasure:P it's special, cost 150pts, profile is S4 T4 W4 with 5+AS, M9, two crew with spear and repeater crossbow. it has a harpoon launcher, like a bolt thrower but far more powerful. it's S7, 24'' range, and cause D3 wounds. if a monster suffer any wounds from it, the monster will be dragged D6'' directly towards it. if D6>3, the monster suffer another wound with no AS.

What would you say is the best magic item the DE's got? The dagger sounds pretty nice, how much does it cost?
25pts. DE have some "OK" items IMO, but i cant tell which is the best. wait for me to post them.

it looks like the Dark Riders now have shields? Is this a default now, or still an option which causes loss of Fast cav?
it's an upgrade with 1pts/per model. DR can have both light armour and shield without losting fast cavalry.

DE sorcerer cast dark magic gain +1 bouns in casting value. it's called HEKARTIS BLESSING

Warlocks:
they're fast cavalry in rare with state 544431528, and M9 on horse. 25pts/per model. they only have hand weapon, but have 4+ward save except for wounds caused by model with mark of slaanesh or daemon of slaanesh. they're considered to be level2 wizard which is used like pink horrors. +1 for casting value for each extra rank except the first, to a max of +3. they know 2 spells, one is doombolt from DE army book(see #2221), the other is soulblight from lore of death. great unit.

I'm afraid to ask but... how much for a Dark Rider?
16pts per model with light armour. 1pts for shield, 3pts for crossbow.

what's the basic warrior cost ?(without spear , shield , RXB ..)
shield is auto. spear is another auto. 9PTS for spearmen and swordsmen.RXB is 12pts without shield upgrade(+1PTS)

Last masochistic question: Sisters of Slaughters?
they're rare choice with very impressive state 564331629. 15pts/model, with shield and hand weapon. can have a magic banner up to 50pts. 4+ward save in close combat, and every close combat phase it can choose an enemy unit in base contact. they lose parry and rank bonus in combat result.(still can steadfast). if any enemy model in base contact with them have highter WS or S(before weapon matters), they get +1 to hit and wound rolls.

The sisters of slaughter are rares: enemies is base contact with them lose rank bonuses.

Hydras are specials can upgrade to get a strength 4 breath attack, no regen but can regrow heads (recover lost wounds) just like the slann can with his discipline.

The kraken thing has a special ability that triggers when all 5 of its attacks hits ( gets an extra attack that inflicts additional hits) has a scaly skin save and causes terror. Enemy models in base contact must re roll successful leadership tests. Both use the monster and handler rules.

They have 2 signature spells just like high magic. One of the spells goes off on a 8+ and grants a unit +1 strength and then you gain D3 power dice but if you gain 3 power dice this way the wizard suffers a wound with no saves allowed.

The army has always strikes first.

Murderous Prowless: models with this rule re roll 1s when rolling to wound.

Wizards casting Dark Magic add plus 1 to their casting attempts.

Rumours: Dark Elves in October!

So no Inquisition game or Blood Bowl in October it seems, a little sad. I would have liked to see any of those games being true. But it looks like we will get Dark Elves instead, and they look awesome according to the source. It also looks like they will get a ton of new plastic kits, which is needed I can agree but it almost seems to good to be true, as no new release has gotten so much new stuff lately.

NEW RUMORS for Warhammer Fantasy! My "source" has sent me pictures of the new Dark Elf release. The Dark Elves will be out in October with a slew of new models: 
1) NEW Plastic Dark Elf Warrior Box(Makes Spearmen, swordsmen, & crossbowmen)
2) NEW PLastic Dark Riders/Warlocks
3) NEW Plastic Blackguard/Executioners
4) NEW Plastic Coldone Chariot/Scroungerunner(Pulled by horses)
5) NEW Plastic Cauldron of Blood/Blood Throne(This model is AMAZING)
6) NEW Plastic Hydra/Kraken
7) NEW Plastic Witch Elf box 
This will be a huge release and the Dark Elves will be the best looking Fantasy army, IMHO. These models are breathe taking and Dark Elf f
ans will have their minds blown!

News: High Elves video clip and rumours



So GW released a new video clip yesterday, and last time when we got the Tau teaser it was pretty cool. This one however not so much, it looks like Batman will join the fight against the forces of destruction in Warhammer world and that would have been awesome! But sadly I think 'Reborn to fight anew' means the we just will Phoenixes in our HE armies, which by it self aren't that bad.

Some rumours for you all.
New Sea Guard character type. Can ride flying chariot
Hoeth Loremaster is a Lord choice and is L2 mage that knows all signature spells from battle magic.
Phoenix gets buffs based on winds of magic. If it dies, comes back on a roll of a 6
Reavers and Silverhelms core
Bolt throwers are rare
High Elf lore attribute "Shield of Saphery" grants 6+ ward save, if you have a 6+ ward save already it increase by +1
White Lions and Swordmasters still have ASF...
Phoenix can be ridden or unridden. Flame Phoenix is anointed of Asuuryan, Frost is anointed of Caradryan
Sisters of Averlorn, magic bows.

I have contacts that have confirmed 2 things for me
A. Lord level lordmaster is in the game in some capacity(knowign 1 of each lore which is sig)
L2 wizard high elf hero stats but 3 wounds.
B. Looks like ASF is staying contary to all rumours, however whether it is speed of asuryan style with great weapon im yet to find out, however i highly doubt it and think it will flick to initiative order rather than asl. Looks like great weapons in initiative order. Also new rule partial prowess across the entire army!
C. Lothern Sky cutter chariots are the new chariot pulled by a swift feather rock! Eagle eye bolt thrower on back (possibly an upgrade)
can be a character mount for new character Lothern sea helm which is the guys you have seen with bsb in rumour sections. This guy can alos be on foot and or armed with trident.
D. Sisters of averlorn are rare choice with magical bows using wytch fire.
E. High elf core will be reavers and silver helms and high elf militia(i dont know details of this)
F. Sms and Dps WLs(characian hunters) same stats have no idea if they have extra armour or not yet.
G. Flame Spire Phoenix does a slash attack, wake of fire (like abomb it can get back up), soem type of ward, attune to magic rule.
H. Lion chariots same stats will be stubborn.
I. Shadow warriors plastic kit sold in 10s.
J. Anointed of Asuryan is character that can ride phoenix.
K. Banner of world dargon possible without bsb though i dont know what it does.
L. Sms 6+ ward possibly only vs shooting
M. RBT still in rare
N. Everqueen has an upgrade or a second character is called her hand maiden appears to be a body guard
O. High magics
Lore attribute you gain +1 to ward saves
signatures *2
Soul quench 8+16+ 18 inch
2d6/4d6 s4 magic missiles
Drain Magic is an augment and hex 7+ remians in play (not sure on details)

FACTS:
1) High Magic Lore attribute is 6+ ward save on friendly units if you cast a spell on them. If your already have a ward save, this gets better by 1 point.
2) Stubborn Lion Chariots.
3) Frost and Fire phoenixes can go alone. BUT frost phoenix can only be ridden by Caradryan and fire phoenix by the Anointed of Asuryan.
4) Loremaster of hoeth is L2 Lord option with WS6 W3 A3. Knows all signatures from rulebook.
5) New Lothern Sea Guard hero character. He can ride a flying boat.
6) New Lord option: Anointed of Asuryan. He can ride a fire phoenix.
7) Silver Helms go core.
Sisters of Avelorn will have magic bows (but we do not know if any other bonuses)
9) Three army rules: Speed of Asuryan, Valor of Ages, Martial Prowess. We do not know yet if they remain the same or they have changed (apparently the latter option).
10) Flying boat name is Skycutter. LSG hero can be built on foot or as a crewmember from the Skycutter sprue. Phoenixes' names are: flamespyre/frostheart; Anointed of Asuryan and plastic Caradryan can be built either mounted or on foot from plastic sprues of phoenixes
11) Deductions: Phoenixes WON'T be MC, for they go either alone or are a hero mount. You may expect heros from other regions (avelorn, caledor, chrace)
All those things can be already considered facts, AND they are today's leaks all of them.

Rumours: More Warriors of Chaos Army Book info


More info regarding the new WoC army book, interesting read and if you missed all previous info you can find it in my first compilation. This information is from two members on Warseer, and what they wrote can be found in this thread on various pages.

Bound spell LVL4

d3 units within 12" get a roll on the EotG table, roll 3d6 and remove one die of your choice to gain result.

Chosen when deployed, or coming on the table from reserve roll on EotG table, roll 3d6 and remove on die, roll does not effect characters


Q: Probably likely that the guy giving us these 'rumors' read it wrong and that it has been brought in line somewhat with how other war machine crews work. We'll see though. The Hellcannon is an unusual instance in that it can still live after the crew are dead. I'm hoping the crew are just removed first when taking wounds rather than hitting them on a 5+.

A: Its a monster, with a shooting attack now, so not a warmachine at all...

Q: It's even possible that now is a warmachine and not a monster with handlers.

A: Its not a warmachine, and it is still monster and handler is like its 4 special rule.

Q: Are chaos knight actually 5 points more now that you have to pay for ensorc weapons? Im asking cause all the other cavalry in tge 8th dropped in price.Since they are already expensive. Also chaos trolls if they lost mutant regen and magic vomit arent they exactly same as ong trolls now that cost 10 points less ? Thats quite huge nerf.So im wondering if they still have some special rule to justify costing 10 more?

A: Chaos Trolls are 7*5, with the change to how marks are purchased, medium sized units are drastically cheaper, full command dropping from 50 to 30 points also helps

Q: About chosen, do they choose they first gift now or they still have to roll for it?

A: They do still get the roll. They roll 3d6 and drop one die of their choice, the warsrhine works the same way. Mark of Nurgle, is only CC

Q: Excuse me Baluc....some questions please!

Are daemon princess still lvl 1 wizards? Can they buy additionals levels? Are they Unstable?

How much for gorebeast chariot? And mutalith/slaughterbeast?

Any change on special characters? Points or rules?

Chaos ogres cheaper?

Are gifts of chaos inside magic items allowance or out?

Is tail attack +d3 on chimera included in base cost?

Are forsaken still frenzied? Still d3+1A?

are Daemon Princess monstrous infantry or monsters? being MI means look out sir at 4+ near trolls and chaos ogres......but being monsters means d6 S6 thunderstomp

A: Without point costs, Daemon prince buys each level for the normal cost, starts with none

The 600+ ones are less than 6, for instance you can take kholek at 2200 points

Archeons swords of chaos get hatred and ItP

Sigvald is T5 now, always gets +1 attack for eye of the gods

Valkia gets +1 S for every eye of the gods roll

Gifts and magic are seperate

chimera comes with tail attack

Daemon Prince is a monster

Forsaken are frenzied, Mark of Khorne gives hatred

I had a brief overview of the book today. What worries me is the third eye of tzeentch gift can still makes a lot of cheese, though not in the same way as it used to. Tzeentch mark still improves ward save (you can easily get 3+ ward) and the third eye makes you rerol 1´s in ward saves. It´s not Kaelth´s like, but almost. Lore of tzeentch is not that impressive now, but the stealing spell one can be pretty nasty if casted by the previous, almost unkillable, mage. I hope its not like this or I missed something in my brief overview.
The rest is more or less ok, though the 50% rise of marauders and their weapons upgrades makes me think they wont be seen so much anymore. The chaos ogres having impact hits in the same way as OK ogres have is nice, and they got cheaper as well. And the cannon having magical attacks, 5+ ward save and
-1 to panic checks and the rest staying the same makes it a better choice now.
About the Warshrine, it still gives the blessing to one unit/models. The bound spell is to affect 1d3 models with the EoTG within a range.

It affects to d3 models that already had the EoTG rule. About the 3d6 removing the lowest, I think thats the way Chosen roll the chart, not sure about the Warshrine effects. The powerlevel was 5, I think.

Edit: not sure if it was mentioned already, but a marked character can´t join a unit with a different mark, and two different marked characters can´t join the same unit. It was about time, I´d say


Q: Oh yeah! Very Important Question: is the "Will of Chaos" still a thing? I.E. Pretty much everybody getting panic re-rolls…?

A: I couldn´t see the Will of Chaos anywhere in the book, I think it´s gone. Not sure if there´s an undividided chaos mark that makes you re-rolls like it was in 6th edition, but as a rule, there´s no "Will of Chaos".


Q: Do you have anything of the Army special rules?

A: Besides the marks things, and the EoTG, I can´t remember any rule army wide. Dragon ogres and Shaggots are almost inmune to bolt attacks/spells , but thats how they always have been, more or less.

Q: so nobody complains about warshrine's effect being a bound spell, combined with vorpex beast bound spell? Add a lvl4 sorcerer and low energy dice... to fail completely. Or people will probably save their dice to dispel both bound spells (like we do with casket of souls)

A: The casting values of most lores aren´t so high. Most are around 8, and the number 6 ones are not that great if you consider the big spells of doom of the BRB. I think the strategy will be mostly many casting of low difficulty spells. As an example, the Tzeentch spell that may steal one of your wizard´s spells and decrease a wizard level as well is just difficulty 8. But time will tell :P

Q: can undivided characters join marked units and viceversa?As I understood it, marked characters have to join a unit with the same mark. 

A: Not sure how undivided works, or if its considered a mark itself, or if its still there. The will of chaos rule is gone, so... But considering two characters with different marks can´t join the same unit, I guess undivided would count as "no mark", or there would be no point on this last ruling.

Q: aluc, what options do chaos ogres get? Also is their impact hit thing just like the regular ogre bull charge now?

A: They come with a pair of points more than an ogre bull, but they have heavy armor as well. Options and stats are the same as before, and the charge is exactly the same OK ogres have, including the d3 impacts if you roll 10 or higher on the charge.


Q: Could we get a little bit of info on the magic items/standards? Effects, category, etc...

A: About standards, they keep the frenzy banner (you never loose frenzy but you have to use it with a unit/char marked with Khorne) and the banner that gives protection for shooting, but its not 5+ ward save, but halving the strenght of the shoot after a succesfull roll (2+ I think, if you roll a 1 it doubles the strenght of the shooting).

About magic items, the helm of many eyes stays the same, improving your armor save on top. Theres a sword that can create spawns when slaying models, a chalice that may turn your character into a demon prince or wound it (rolling a d6 chart) and some other items. About gifts there are more than magic items, the fanciest of them is the third eye of Tzeench, making you rerol the 1´s for ward saves, only for Tzeentch miniatures. I hope this isn´t as cheese as it smells :S
